Folly’s Farm Home of Rest for Donkeys and Ponies is a non-profit organisation, run entirely on voluntary help and contributions. Most of the donkeys have been rescued from mistreatment and abuse but at Folly’s Farm, they receive love, care and a comfortable home for the rest of their lives. RSPCA Lockwood Centre for Donkeys and Horses Godalming, Surrey
Equine centre rehabilitating and rehoming horses, ponies and donkeys. Open to visitors between April and October, when you can meet the donkeys on Wednesdays and Sundays between 11.30am and 4pm. There is a small shop selling ice creams, gifts and drinks and there are footpaths to wander around the donkey fields. Enjoy a picnic in the garden area and watch Donkey Treat Time at 12.30pm or Donkey Grooming at 2.30pm.

Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare Ringmer, East Sussex
Raystede provides sanctuary to more than 2000 animals each year and a lifelong home for goats, horses, ponies and donkeys. It is also a safe haven for waterfowl, ducks and geese. Free admission almost every day of the year.

Sussex Horse Rescue Trust Uckfield, East Sussex
Dedicated to the rescuing, rehabilitation and re-homing of horses, ponies and donkeys in Sussex, with over 300 equines at both the sanctuary and in loan homes. Open on Sundays during the summer (check website for current visiting days and times). Visitors can meet the animals, groom a donkey or pony and learn about equine welfare. There is a tea room, shop and field walks to enjoy.

As well as donkeys, this East End farm boasts ducks, geese, parrots, chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, ferrets, bees and bugs! Surrey Docks Farm South East London
A working charitable farm, with two donkeys and a Shetland pony, among many other animals. The farm provides a huge range of programmes for children, adults and vulnerable groups. For those with green fingers, there are community plots, permaculture and herb gardens and regular green workshops. Work experience and volunteering opportunities, hire space, a mobile farm, working forge, farm shop and other delights. Open 7 days a week, 10am-4pm.

Clovelly Donkeys Torridge, Devon
The beautiful heritage village of Clovelly in north Devon is famous for its steep cobbled street, its fishing harbour and its long association with donkeys. In the summer, the donkeys give children’s rides around their meadow and can be seen on the street. In the winter, the local children ride and drive them in the woods.
Weymouth Donkeys Dorset.
These famous, award-winning donkeys have been giving donkey rides to children on Weymouth beach since the late 1800s. They can be found at the Pavilion end of the beach next to The Boat Café. Riders must be 16 years and under, with a weight limit of 7 stone or 45kg. Beach rides run every day (weather permitting) from March to October and also at Christmas and February holidays and most winter weekends throughout the year.
